Dear Roblox Church Developers,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Cody Ramsai, and I was the founder and advisor of the Bayside Church of Roblox for over seven years. Over this time, we have invested countless painstaking hours in creating original assets to enhance our experiences for our community.

I am aware some of these assets have been leaked and are being used without permission. On Sunday, August 17th, I addressed this issue directly with two developers from Hope Community Church. Screenshots of unauthorized assets were sent to me earlier that day. During our discussion, I was met with defensiveness and aggression. Among their statements were:

“I just don’t agree with how you chose us to b***h to when of course bayside got leaked and other assets are being used in [different] places”

“ok, but why.. Its all over the marketplace. Anyone can use it once its up there.”

“Yeah I’m sorry but i’ve built this building back in 2023 and if there wasn’t a problem before there shouldn’t be a problem now”

I want to be absolutely clear: using these models without exclusive permission is wrong—morally, ethically, and legally. Accessibility on the toolbox or widespread use does not make it acceptable to use someone else’s work. These actions are considered digital theft under the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) of 1998, and they undermine the integrity of the community.

As a faith-based community, we are guided by the principles of honesty, respect, and integrity. The Bible teaches us that stealing is wrong (Exodus 20:15), and using another creator’s work without permission falls under this principle. Even in a virtual environment, these actions have real consequences for those who dedicate their time and talent to build meaningful experiences.

I respectfully ask all developers to honor the hard work of others. If you wish to use someone’s assets, always seek permission or create your own. Let us lead by example, showing that the Roblox Church community can be a place of creativity, collaboration, and respect while reflecting the values we teach and uphold.
